My top best selling pictures in stock photos
This post will list some of my top best-selling pictures in stock photos of all time.
I have been selling pictures at Stock Photos since August 2018 as a contributor photographer on Shutterstock, Alamy, and Adobe Stock. I sell photos on Dreamstime, but the sellings are not relevant as on the other stock photos.
Surprisingly, my best selling on Shutterstock and Adobe Stock is a picture I took in Hamptons beach, New York, with my old and dear Sony Nex 5T Camera and its kit lens (E 18-55mm F3.5-5.6).
It happened in November 2013, when I didn’t even know how to take photos in manual mode.
To simplify, I took some screenshots of my contributor pages on Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, and Alamy. Here we go!
My Best Sellin Photos on Shutterstock
I already told you about the first one, my precious Hamptons Sunset shot.
My second best selling on Shutterstock is a picture of Carnival Umbrellas that I took in Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil.
It is a picture that represents Frevo, a famous Carnival cultural movement in the State of Pernambuco, Brazil.
The third one is a picture I shot at Universal Studios, Florida. At that time, I got astonished by the beautiful vintage cars in front of Mel’s Drive-in Restaurant, so I stopped and took a picture:

As you can see, Hamptons Sunset photo is on Adobe Stock best selling also in the first place.
Now, let’s talk about the second place. It is a beautiful scene of a Christmas Decorated House in Celebration City, Florida. The decoration of that house caught my eye, and I stopped the car to take the shot.
My third best-selling on Adobe Stock is a picture of a Mamulengo from Brazilian Folklore that I took in Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil.
The fourth picture is a panoramic view of the Architecture in Marco Zero (Ground Zero) in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. It is a beautiful and remarkable place for tourism in the city.
The fifth place is the picture of the colorful umbrellas from the Pernambuco Frevo Carnival in Brazil, which appeared above in second place on Shutterstock.
I don’t have the information of all-time paid amounts on Adobe Stock per image. It only shows the last 13 months’ earnings.
The screenshot below shows the payouts from June 2021 until July 2022 for the pictures I talked about, so you can have an idea of how much I earn for it:

On Alamy, things are a little bit different. You don’t sell a lot of pictures like on Shutterstock and Adobe Stock. However, when you sell an image, you get a great payout.
The site doesn’t show us the best-selling pictures, but I can tell you the best payments I had on Alamy.
My top best payment at all times, the amount of $365.00, I got on a shot taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America. It is “The Gate of Hell” at the entrance of the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia.
The second picture is the shot of a Balloon in Orlando, Florida:
And the last image is a shot I took at Universal Studios Florida. I waited for the perfect time to take the picture: when the dragon breathed fire.
As you can see, most of my best-selling pictures are from where I live or someplace I visited on vacation.
If the picture is exclusive of nature or animals, you can mark it as free content. Otherwise, you must sell it as editorial content, like me. People say payouts are great when you work with model and property releases.
As my main job is not photography, I take shots when I want to freeze a special moment I would like to have with me forever.
Luckily, people seem interested in these pictures too, and I’m happy to sell them! 😉
